Selecting an Agent

There are a couple of agents that provide Hajj packages in Japan, however (as of Nov 2009) there are only two agents in Japan which are authorized by Saudi Arabia Embassy to submit visa application forms (see here). Those agents are:

1. Air1travel
Shibaura 3-6-10-706 Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan
Tel: 03-5796-6393
Email: moc.levart1ria|ser#moc.levart1ria|ser

2. Mian International
Shinagawa-ku, Minami
Tokyo 140-0013, Japan
Tel: 03-3768-0898
Fax: 03-3768-0977

Selecting an Airline Company

There are a lot of choices of airlines to Jeddah. Some of the advantages of booking your own airline ticket are:

  • You can arrange when you want to leave (or arriving in) Japan, hence you can squeeze the time to 2 weeks. This is one of the main reasons why we chose to book our own flights, as we both can only took holiday for max 2 weeks. Also, Air1Travel kindly offered to arrange our trip back from Madinnah to Jeddah to accommodate this.
  • Price is cheaper than the one provided in Hajj package (of any travel agency) if you book the ticket early (3 months in advance).

Example of airlines to Jeddah:

  1. Malaysian Airlines (transit in Kuala Lumpur)
  2. Cathay Pasific (transit in Hong Kong)
  3. Swiss Air (transit in Zurich and Dubai)
  4. Air India
  5. Pakistan International Airlines

Physical Challenge

You will need to prepare your physical condition. If the means of transportation doesn't work, then you will have to walk!

Approximate distances between main locations:
- Jeddah to Makkah: 80 kilometers (50 miles)
- Makkah to Mina: 8 kilometers (5 miles)
- Mina to Arafat: 14.4 kilometers (9 miles)
- Mina to Muzdaliah: 3 kilometers (1.8 miles)
- Makkah to Arafat: 22.4 kilometers (14 miles)
